Starting from the beginning

I actually felt impressed with our last regional conference to start doing my personal progress that I never finished. Last time I started it I cheated by signing everything off because I am old and figured I had already done it all. This time, I'm going to do it as if I were a teenager again. (I'm kind of immature anyway). I'm starting with the first value, which is Faith. I'm taking it slow because I have a lot on my plate, for example last week I just read one scripture reference each day and wrote a little journal note about anything I felt impressed about.
I'm also, simultaneously working on chapter 6 in the Preach My Gospel manual. It'a about developing Christlike attributes which is along the same lines as personal progress. I'm doing the same thing with that. One paragraph each day.
I also committed to read the BofM everyday. I'm just sticking with a few verses or chapter a day, so just I can establish good habits with it.
Part of the first assignment in the faith value is to establish a habit of prayer every morning and night. I talk to Heavenly Father throughout the day but I want to do a more formal one where I'm really concentrating. At UVU, they have prayer room that I'm going to utilize on the mornings I'm there. It will give me a quiet, distraction free place to pray. I'm excited about that.
This probably seems like a lot, especially since I'm also taking an institute class but it fits right in because the class is The Gospel and The Productive Life. I love it!!! I feel so hungry lately for spiritual nourishment. I really need it. I've had so much going on in my life that I'm trying to deal with and I just need the extra lift.
