Woo Hoo

Ok, I read the lesson this week. I did not start the Book of Mormon again though. I've been reading the scriptures most days because it's part of the weekly curriculum but I just haven't started the Book of Mormon. I got a new set for Christmas that has the extra wide margins for note taking so I'm hesitating because I want to use them but not until I have a perfect system. Stupid I know but it is hanging me up.
Good news. Last week, I called and asked my son if he wanted to join us for dinner...he is usually out with friends at night. He ended up coming home. So we had hot dogs and I felt impressed to have a family counsel while everyone was home and sitting together. So we did. It went ok and at the end I just jumped in and told the boys that Heavenly Father could make more out of their lives than they could do on their own...that nothing was impossible for Him and they only need to seek Him. Then I quoted, "Seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you." I said, He is just waiting for you to knock...He has so much in store for you. Then everyone went their way. Neither of them said anything but they didn't sigh in disgust either. WIN!! I am just going to trust Heavenly Father on this and do the best I can. He will magnify my efforts.

Yay

My goals this week:

  • To read the lesson for the week
  • Read my institute readings
  • Start thinking about a plan for studying the Book of Mormon
  • Pray about how to sneak in the next "lesson" with the boys
