We watched the Book of Mormon videos. We were actually behind one so we watched both. We also studied the Come Follow Me lesson.
I read from the topical guide under the subtopic of Jesus Christ, Trials of. The thing that stood out to me this week was Mosiah 14:7. It says, "He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb so he opened no his mouth". This is mentioned in several other scriptures as well. The Savior didn't complain about His trials. I've been pondering this all week. I complain far too much. Even when I'm not really afflicted. He suffered more than I can even imagine and He didn't complain. If fact, when He was on the cross, He prayed for the thieves hanging with Him, and He also was concerned about His mother and her being taken care of after He died. No complaining, only looking out for others. This is one way to get through our trials - care for others. But also, turning to Him to give us strength to bare them. I want to stop complaining and turn things over to Him while I serve others.
My goals this week will be:
- Study Come Follow Me
- Study what President Nelson told the women to at Women's Conference. It's D&C 25, 84, and 107. I want to be prepared for next conference, so I will begin with these scriptures. I won't do all of these sections this week but I will start.
I love those goals! I may have to copy studying the sections in the Doctrine and Covenants.
