LOVED Conference

I did really well on the days that I worked again. I even made sure to complete my goals when my routine was thrown off by people coming to talk to me early in the morning. I was really proud of myself for that.

General Conference was amazing! Prior to conference, I prayed for help. I have come to the realization that a lot of what I have been going through lately is because of the wound of my mom's and brother's deaths being opened again. (I don't blame my dad. He thought I knew certain details.) I prayed to once again feel at peace with the accident. Then, I started the morning session of conference feeling very down. Then, an amazing thing happened. Each session was filled with messages of the peace the gospel brings and music that reminded me of my mom. The Saturday afternoon session ended with "Abide With Me, Tis Even Tide," my family's funeral song, and the Sunday afternoon session ended with "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," the song I sang for my mom at the funeral. There were also other hymns that my mom loved sprinkled in each session. It was like my mom was helping me feel the peace that the Lord was telling me I could have in the talks through the music. It was such a special experience!
