Frustrating

I hate traveling sometimes. I never seem to be able to keep any kind of a schedule. All my goals go out the window. I barely read my scriptures one time last week. There were days I completely forgot to pray. I don't know why. I guess I'm more scheduled than I always thought. I'm happy to be home now and am excited to get back on schedule. I follow this lady's blog. Her name is Emily Belle Freeman. She has written books and does a lot of free things to help people study. I was reading her blog yesterday and she was talking about what she does for scripture study. In fact, I'll just post what she said here:

It happened just as I was climbing Into bed a couple nights ago. A whisper that was more than just a thought. You need to set aside time to come up with your summer study schedule.
.
For me, a new season means a new schedule. I wonder if the same is true for you?
.
I thought I might share my summer study schedule with you. I hesitate, because scripture study schedules are personal. What works for me might not work for you. You get to decide how much time you have to offer, what your needs are, the places where Inspiration and answers and direction will come. The Spirit is a much better guide than I. But I also know that one thing that made a huge difference in my understanding of scripture was learning from the patterns of others. So maybe this will give you some ideas.
.
The first thing I do in every new season is decide how many minutes a day I will commit to study. This summer my minimum is thirty minutes.
.
The next thing I do is decide what to study. I like to have a family study program, a friend study program, and a personal study program. This might sound weird, but I get bored if I am just studying one book of scripture and I have found that I love to study with other people along with having a personal study program. I rotate personal study and study with others on different days of the week.
.
This summer my study will look like this.
.
Sundays study Come, Follow Me with family.
.
Mondays study the gifts of the Spirit with friends over @multiplygoodness
.
Tuesdays celebrate the Summer of Heroes with @dontmissthisstudy
.
Wednesdays a personal study to understand mercy.
.
Thursdays. Inklings. A mix of personal study and friend study. It’s Institute and great discussions. Right now we are studying the Proclamation @inklings.ahintofsomethingmore
.
Fridays and Saturdays I am studying progression through grace. It is another personal study.
.
You might think it’s overwhelming, but I love the change of scenery. The constant learning of new things. A handful of minutes set aside every day for diving in and reaching deep.
.
I wonder what your summer study will look like? What is the Spirit whispering to you?

I love this! So my goals for the week are:

  • I will start out with 15 minutes each day
  • I will read the Come Follow Me 2 days
  • Read one Conference talk 1 day
  • One verse from the Book of Mormon. I actually have  book that she wrote on that. She chose one favorite verse from every chapter in the Book of Mormon and expanded on it. I will use that to study this 2 day
  • Don't Miss This 1 day
  • Pick a gospel topic from The Church of Jesus Christ Gospel Topics Essays and study 1 day
